Beating

When we were young, we were all beaten by our parents.
They usually have division of labor. Dad is responsible for fighting, while mom is responsible for persuading!
One coaxes, the other coerces!
But if mom beats, dad usually doesn't dare to persuade.
It's possible that both father and son will die!
